 In the petroleum industry, Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technology has been developed to obtain increased oil recovery from reservoirs. One of EOR methods is chemical using a surfactant known as flooding method. Surfactants have ability reduce interfacial tension between and water in rock matrix so that residual can be produced. There are several parameters affect performance surfactants, among which will discussed this discussion, namely middle phase emulsion obtained behavior test results Interfacial Tension (IFT) test. Based on literature review, method used IFT uses spinning drop Compatibility Fir wood SLS solution with concentration 0.5% - 3% salinity 4,000 110,000 ppm.
